Jack Dillon is my 2005 big project and my first webcomic. I started it in December 2004 and finished it on December 31st, 2005. The first three pages took me two months apiece. The final two pages took several months of contemplation, and several months of hectic drawing. With each webcomic I create, I'm going to try to utilize something unique the web has compared to other mediums. Jack Dillon used vertical space. With large backdrops such as buildings, the lower floors of the bank, and JD in the tub, I was able to create a more complete world. Other artists have used vertical space such as Scott McCloud and Keaner. I'm certainly not the first or best. Jack Dillon was created completely in Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop. While I was able to manipulate the art somewhat effectively with these programs, I think hand drawing attracts me more right now. With hand drawing you have so much more control. As far as the written content of Jack Dillon, I am half pleased. I like the concept and certain ways it played out. However, the story seems incomplete to me. Maybe I'll write more about JD in the future. Maybe the story isn't finished. Jeff Eblen
